After exploring time-bending electroacoustic compositions, Kali Malone returns to the organ with her latest album All Life Long. Working through mercurial motifs and timbral shifts not only with organ but brass quintet and choir also, Malone expands the breadth of her fascination with sound and harmonics, and their potential for emotional release. Solemnity becomes hope and drive with a simple chord change, cycling through scintillating bursts of air from pipes, bells, and lungs.
