Sound-tracking a 2010 road-trip through, you guessed it, Jordan, 2562’s follow-up release to the truly brilliant ‘Fever’, is a captivating insight into a clash of cultures. Based around field recordings taken in various spots across the country, including bustling city centres, desert landscapes, desolate villages and temple sights, the EP manages such vivid contrast and depth. Jordan’s isolated rural landscapes and vibrant populated urban centres are at once apparent from the Dutchman’ remarkable skill (as showcased in ‘Fever’) for reimagining and reinterpreting context and narrative.
