Cologne-based James Pants announces his first solo album since 2011, Savage on Stones Throw. Recorded using only MIDI and a Yamaha Portasound, there is an overarching lo-fi simplicity to Savage which wins out. Blending soul, funk, R&B with his DIY ethic makes this LP a prime cut for the catalogue at Stones Throw. The whole LP is a tighter version of the James Pants sound which fans are already familiar with. Slinky production, radio-ready melodies and an ear for more tropical sounds. As a return to the limelight, Savage is a massive success.
