New talent Dirg Gerner makes tentative steps onto the Ho Tep imprint with 'Preface', an EP that flirts with the supremely soulful elements of jazz, latin, hip hop and soul itself. Drawing on this diverse array of styles and instrumentals, Gerner crafts three organic numbers where vocalists take centre stage. Guest appearances come from Eglo's first lady, Fatima, who dazzles on 'Rubies and Diamonds', and Rahel and Olmino who lend more spirit to 'Loose Lights' and the more optimised 'Attempting Cry'.
