Finally remastered and reissued for the first time since its release during acid’s early 1990s gilded age, Stasis aka Steve Pickton stakes his claim as a foundational force with ‘Artifax’. The track is one of the producer’s most in-demand tracks (a perfect fit for the first volume of his Rare and Unreleased series), caught between bubbling bass and a slight ambient techno wispiness. ‘Monolife’ appears here in sputtering remixed form for the first time, while the 10-minute electro-odyssey ‘Occasions & Adventures’ — recorded around 1992 — makes its very first appearance.
