A bona fide lost classic of UK avant-garde synth, The Same’s one and only album Sync Or Swim came shortly before ringleader Robert Cox went on to form Rimarimba in 1984, and holds much of the same founding ethos. Cox assembled a troupe of musicians and non-musicians to oversee the chopping and changing of sampled audio over bizarre landscapes of fast-forwarded guitars, cartoon skeleton marimbas and a host of Holger Czukay-ish production unorthodoxies.
