Egyptian sound artist Rozzma melds the pre-musical past with an as-yet unknowable future on Khatar Sayeb. Translating to “loose danger”, the EP sees the producer and rapper finding comfort in fusing the familiar with the unfamiliar by crafting a completely unique take on hip-hop. A wailing synth line beckons the quick-fire autotune of ‘Gheirek’, like a future-past pledge to the fates. ‘Hout’ is the bombastic reply, as Rozzma delivers bars over a menacing, handclap-driven beat.
