Houndstooth’s new Alterity compilation contains tracks from some of the electronic music's most boundary-pushing artists. The tone is set from the off here - Alterity begins with a track apiece from SVKVLT’s 33EMYBW and Gooooose, both of which supercharge the sounds of rave and techno to create something bracingly new. Subsequent entries from AYA, LYZZA, Slikback, Deena Abdelwahed and more deliver thrilling beats which teeter on the edge of club music and its various deconstructions. Elsewhere on Alterity, Debit’s ‘Primal Use Of Wind’ is an example of how the album’s future-forward sonic palette can be taken away from the dancefloor and into the realms of industrial, avant-garde and noise music.
