Following up ace releases on Further Electronix, Neo Violence and Thirty Year Records, Lostlojic lands on Deeptrax sub-label Technum with a chimerical beast of a bass LP. Imperfect stutters and jitters between dancefloor warfare with a perennial emphasis on rawness. ‘Acid Blood’ darkly mulls on its namesake with a choice vocal sample, as broken breakbeats shimmy across the slow-burning synth of ‘Interlinked Cell’. ‘Imperfect’ jacks up the hi-hat action, while ‘Metaphysics’ allows a vintage house vibe the space to turn evil. The pieces of Imperfect are all familiar, but it takes a producer like Lostlojic to turn them all strange to the ear.
