A host of esteemed producers remix the work of seminal Detroit techno collective Scan 7. It takes some doing to rearrange the soulful disposition of these analogue tracks, and maybe even some cheek to mix up Maurice Jackson’s heavenly vocal, but this EP pulls it off with finesse. DJ Deep and Roman Ponchet spin ‘Burdens Down’ into a squelching banger, while Orlando Voom provides two mixes, the first an ascendant number, the second an eerily discordant yet eminently dance-able take on ‘Thank You Lord’.
