Having recently reissued Ceramic Hello’s 1981 LP The Absence Of A Canary, Suction Records offshoot Ice Machine now returns to the cult synthwave band’s catalogue with a new edition of the duo’s 1980 debut 7”. With their burbling beats that drew equally from wave/post-punk sounds and the more florid synth-pop of groups like Ultravox, ‘Climactic Noveaux’ and instrumental B-side ‘Theatre Matrix’ set the tone perfectly for what Ceramic Hello would do on the following year’s full-length album.
