A reissue of an absolutely definitive volume here. This new edition of Kemistry & Storm’s DJ-Kicks instalment is also something of an anniversary - 2020 marks (a little more than) two decades since the mix first hit the market and a quarter-century since !K7 kicked off the series as a whole. It still sounds as magnificent as ever, both a time-capsule from a point when the Metalheadz label they ran had established itself as the go-to for dark, futuristic drum ‘n’ bass and also a timeless ode to junglism and its attendant cultures. Though Kemistry tragically passed away before the new millennium came, this DJ-Kicks volume remains testament to a whole scene that came up in the image of her and Storm.
