After several years of buzz-building EPs, Byron The Aquarius finally delivers his debut LP courtesy of Norwegian label Mutual Intentions. Astral Travelling follows in the footsteps of pioneers like Theo Parrish and Moodymann. We don't just mean this in the sense that Astral Travelling delivers smokey deep-house joints - though there are a good number of those here. Rather, this LP also displays an affinity for funk, soul and soul-jazz that places it and its creator in a rich black musical tradition.
