Video games, vintage synths and a knack for crafting time-travelled beats inform the wondrous sounds on Byron the Aquarius’ Apron EP. Indeed, the climbing chords and airy leads make ‘Dr Robotnik’ sound like something straight out of a Sonic game, while the likes of ‘Girls Girls Girls’ and ‘End of Time’ recall classy slow jams with their FM synth chiming, whilst also holding a rhythmic centre straight out of a gnarly, soulful and jazzy funk tune.
