The latest in BAKK’s Plafond series finds two premier voices of the European avant-garde joining forces. Zoë Mc Pherson and Rupert Clervaux create some potent music in the Fluxus tradition on Plafond 5. These tracks hove in and out of focus, their wordless vocals and cluttering concrete ambiences occasionally coalescing into lo-fi rhythmic noise - see the second ‘Cercle Vicieux’ on this count. Shackleton’s recent work, both solo and as part of Tunes of Negation, is recalled.
