There’s tremendous humanity throughout John Hester’s Dimensional EP, of the sort that goes beyond moving mere feet. Take a cursory listen to ‘Dimension Seven’ and you’ll swear the synth speaks a language you understand, escalating and lowering like a sonorous speech pattern. ‘Onward’ dabbles in the same, although as a delicate whisper rather than a full-blown conversation. It’s said that speech is the most complex thing humans do; Hester’s crystallised the complexity into a delightful slab of house revelry.
