Experimental cellist Oliver Coates dons his Steve Reich cap alongside producer SPATIAL, who dons a very different, jagged kind of headgear, with their joint release as part of OOH-sounds’ Decouple ][ Series. Both producers take pre-packaged musical forms and textures, reshaping them into wildly different shapes. It’s testimony to each producer’s talent that their respective takes couldn’t be more disparate, one zipping from her lightness, the other grounded by bilious gravity.
