Over the past couple of years Leif has been issuing some 10” EPs as part of his TIO series. The intention of these TIO drops is to create abstracted club tracks that still work well on the dancefloor, and Leif hits that mark once more with the third TIO instalment. ‘Montpelier’ is a skittering post-techno delight, one that weds dinky melodies and chirruping synths to a gently pulsating beat. The likes of upsammy and Shanti Celeste are recalled. ‘Montpelier’ is followed by ‘Rumex’, a slightly more tonally complex cut that still sways in a similar manner. If you enjoy the output of labels like Where To Now? and Idle Hands then Leif’s TIO series is the one for you.
