Word on the street is that the city of Tallinn is Estonia’s hotbed for artistic talent, if not for North-Eastern Europe altogether, which is largely thanks to the pedigree of Nikolajev. The DJ and producer left his mark on the city in co-founding legendary clubs Lekker and Kauplus Aasia, in addition to appearing alongside Ragner Rahouja as Dima-Disk. His solo EP LEL is playful take on deep disco, taking cues from vintage, pulp horror and synthwave. ‘12AM Monday’ is an untamed asteroid belt of activity, underpinned by an eerie voice recording, and ‘Left’ swaggers twice as hard as any Kavinsky cut.
