In 1999 UK electro producer Phil Klein was breaking moulds/shaking walls with ‘Bass Time Continuum’, an album of ‘80s-edged beatbox-ready bangers. This reissue from Breakin’ Records is long overdue, sounding as fresh and breakdance-ready as it did in the last millennium: skittery drum programming and low slabs on ‘Back In The Jungle’; ethereal keyboards and footwork-esque snares on ‘A Bass Odyssey’. If Nostradamus had got his dates right the world could happily have ended right here.
