Galaxian is not to be confused with the electro-funk band Galaxians. Rather, the Glaswegian producer is an artist making some of the most innovative club fare of the moment, music that pushes the dancefloor into the future even as it examines its history. New two-tracker Self/No-Self I - Path Of Deviation is another masterpiece from Galaxian. A-side ‘Path Of Deviation’ engages in something like Special Request’s revivalism crossbred with stargazing futurism of the late Ras G. On the flip, ‘Negative Realm Agenda’ brings the hardcore continuum to the trance resurgence. There was a time when the club sounded like things to come, and Galaxian is out here to remind you of that era.
