LT’s debut solo EP, Forest Floor, is released on Rhythm Section INTL following a collaboration with friend and producer Mallard, released on International Black last year. Fusing house and electro, Lewis Taylor’s work is littered with references to rave and club anthems of yore; with consistent use of house piano and other classic dance track features dominating throughout. ‘Untitled (Chesney)’ is the first song on the EP to utilise these piano riffs with additional claps and funky key changes interspersed across the melody. The title track demonstrates keenly Taylor’s ability to depict visual scenes in aural terms as ‘Forest Floor’ transports listeners by utilising new-age style bird sounds layered across glistening chilled out beats.
