Cracking EP from Youandewan here. But you didn’t need us to tell you that this thing was good, did you? You already knew when you saw who the artist behind Ideal Passage was, so synonymous has Youandewan’s name become with European-school deep house of the highest quality. ‘Ideal-Passage’ and ‘Thewizzwasfordillysmissus’ (naughty!) both have a florid Balearic lilt in the synths which gives a psychedelic quality to the rolling, Moodymann-style basslines. ‘Sicko’ rounds things out with a nice Detroit Swindle-style shuffle.
