Bleep Mix #165 - A Winged Victory for the Sullen

We should’ve guessed that ambient and neo-classical duo A Winged Victory for the Sullen’s Bleep mix would feature an enormous wealth of classical music; what we didn’t expect was that many of them would be lifted from cinema. Each selection offers a tantalising glimpse into the obscured narratives of Dustin O’Halloran and Adam Wiltzie’s own transcendental compositions; sweeping romantic tones flutter with life on the likes of Alberto Iglesias’ ‘Tessa’s Death’ (as featured in The Constant Gardener), as complex heroics play out in droning strings and tentative piano on Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ Patriots Day score.

"I am writing this on the day before the release of “Invisible Cities” (February 26, 2021)and this is a collection of songs that fit quite well into the classification of what good “Soundtrack Music” can sound like, even if they are not all soundtracks, but a universal feeling that permeates everything" - Adam Wiltzie
