We should’ve guessed that ambient and neo-classical duo A Winged Victory for the Sullen’s Bleep mix would feature an enormous wealth of classical music; what we didn’t expect was that many of them would be lifted from cinema. Each selection offers a tantalising glimpse into the obscured narratives of Dustin O’Halloran and Adam Wiltzie’s own transcendental compositions; sweeping romantic tones flutter with life on the likes of Alberto Iglesias’ ‘Tessa’s Death’ (as featured in The Constant Gardener), as complex heroics play out in droning strings and tentative piano on Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’ Patriots Day score.
