Sex Tags Amfibia (DJ Sotofett, DJ Fett Burger) has long been the weirdo of the Sex Tags stable. Its trend towards curious ambiences and post-dub fugs continues on this latest drop from Andres Loo. A-side ‘Seto Dub’ is a curious brew. Combining dub delays, a closing-time jazz bass line played on a bassoon, sustained E-bow guitar and background chatter, the overall air is of an old Studio One record heard while stranded far out at sea. It’s beguiling stuff. On the flipside, Sotofett gets involved for ‘Pärast Vihma Sajab Päikast’. While stylistically it is quite the left-turn from ‘Seto Dub’ - the closest sonic touchstone is probably the strangely pretty tape-loops of Oval - it proves a neat foil for the A-side.
