Jura Soundsystem Presents Transmission One brings together tunes from the worlds of dub, downtempo, ambient and new-wave. Many of the cuts here are long-lost gems for which this represents their first vinyl release (download versions are also available). Without many big names on show - the closest we get to a headline act is a pretty bit of kosmische from Legowelt’s Smackos project - this record proves to be all about the hidden gems. Trevor Bastow’s ‘Integration’ and a Go-Go edit of Mix-O-Rap’s boogie-hop jam ‘All Party People’ are both party-rocking delights, and the dubs by Minus Group and Astral Engineering are beauties of the Mad Professor school.
