Originally released on cassette (and only in Spain) back in 1987, Respuesta Alternativa’s Grata Compania is set to wax by Left Ear Records (Egyptian Lover, Workdub). Jesus Ma Catalana - the brains behind the project - used a simple and effective method to create the five tracks here. Laying out his drum machines and synths, he got collaborators including Julian C Perez to freestyle over the top. The result are these spontaneous jams that have shades of 80s r&b, jazz fusion and bedroom synth pop to their sound. We’re sure Thundercat was taking notes on the title track before the release of Drunk.
