Minneapolis-based producer TML follows up his promising 2017 debut for Hotflush. Like the No Memory EP, Machine Bias comes well-stocked with weighty dancefloor cuts while polishing TML’s production style. The more refined engineering of Machine Bias allows TML’s percussive techno style to come into its own here. ‘Cell ID’ and ‘B2B’ recall the sound of early Night Slugs releases, while on the flip Justin Cudmore’s remix of No Memory cut ‘RHU’ is more in keeping with Hotflush’s usual aesthetic - jacked grooves, tuneful basslines, that sort of thing.
