Intriguing archival release from Wagram. This record presents Apollo’s score for the 1982 French-Japanese animated TV series Les Mystérieuses Cités D'Or (Mysterious Cities Of Gold). Helmed by former Lions Of Judea bassist Haim Saban, Apollo create a charming and friendly sound here, one that combines the French chansons style with folk music and synth-pop. Despite being composed for a show which seemed to be aimed at children, these songs are playful and melodious enough to be enjoyed by all comers.
