If you’re a fiend for 90s UK electronic gear then you might have come across the short lived Emote label. Run by Mark Churcher and Doug Martin, the pair used it as an outlet for their bleep techno/downtempo dub experiments until calling it a day in 1997. Twenty years (!) on and Churcher has just launched a new project called Chicago Bee, debuting with his own A-Eno-Acid. If you don’t like the sound of the 303 then, as you may have guessed, this one ain’t for you. However, if you’re a fan then you’ll take delight in the outlandish squelches on the likes of ‘Mika Vainio RIP’.
