The DMZ leader teams up with Matic Horns man Trixx (you may also know him as Patrixx, or maybe Patrixx Matics) for an EP of soundsystem gold. Coki’s earthy production style proves a perfect fit for Trixx’s trumpet stylings. The pair each push towards the sound of the other while never giving up their signature styles, and the result sees them meet in the middle to killer effect. Cuts like ‘Bass & Trumpet’ and ‘The Peak’ combine rapidfire dub beatwork and some serious LFO nastiness from Coki with highly evocative playing from Trixx, while ‘Rocky Roads’ and ‘Refuge’ bring in melodic elements rarely heard on Coki’s own productions.
