Another season of Twin Peaks means another season of the Twin Peaks soundtrack. David Lynch’s son and long-time music supervisor Riley has teamed up with Dave’s frequent collaborator Dean Hurley and Dirty Beaches saxophonist Alex Zhang Hungtai to deliver this louche two-track. Lead cut ‘Snake Eyes’ is brooding and sexy, with a desert-rock-meets-Glitter-bear groove underpinning some swinging sax skronks. ‘Mother’s Gone’ slows things down to strutting tempo, with more classic desert rock tropes playing off a grinding drone to place the track somewhere between The Birthday Party and The Lounge Lizards. While the group will appear in the show as Twin Peaks’ resident bar-band, this is your first chance to cop the music for home listening.
