Mike Huckaby is one of the most underrated Detroit producers in the game, first appearing back in 1995 on long-time friend and ex-colleague Rick Wade’s Harmonie Park imprint. The man needs no introduction for those well versed in the city’s beatdown scene, but for anyone who may not recognise the name he’s compiled a double LP of six of his best cuts. Flashback 78 and The Rowdy Swing get our pick, but there is a solid house track for every occasion here. Huckaby is also a seriously sick DJ, cutting between contemporary jams, industrial monsters and classic acid house. Check him out if you get the chance.
