A beguiling little release this. Estonian imprint Porridge Bullet has given us the spooky, lo-fi ‘Spirit World’ riddim from secretive producer Tapes. Doused in tape-hiss and moth-eaten by reverb, the instrumental’s languid shuffle sounds like the memory of saturday night a 70s dancehall in a manner similar to the aquatic lovers rock of Hype Williams’ ‘The Throning’. Superstar & Star provides a mournful, heartfelt vocal about lost love for the A-side.
