Fast approaching its 20th anniversary, Theo Parrish’s two part debut album still holds as much relevance to dance floors today as it did when both volumes landed on Peacefrog back in the tail end of the 90s. The loop heavy, long-form jams like ‘Sweet Sticky’ seem to have permeated years and years of our own nightlife experience, wriggling its way out of sound systems everywhere from restaurant basements through to huge outdoor festivals. The word classic is often thrown about all too casually but the First Floor series truly deserves such a title. Peacefrog keep up the good work by delivering another timely issue, complete with original artwork.
