Dutch visual artist and producer David Douglas releases his second full length LP on Atomnation. Spectators of the Universe is a trip through mutant IDM disco synth hybrids, a strange concoction which manages to sound both unique and considered (at least to us!). Douglas manages to strike that all too rare chord of crafting elegant pop music that also sounds experimental and fresh, eschewing tired formulas in favour of something genuinely quite innovative. Imagine Emeralds trying to channel Black Devil Disco Club and you’re on the right path.
