On the come-up for a few years now, the debut LP from Swedish duo sees them hone their craft to a fine art (alfie). After a cerebral intro track, the pair craft nine impeccable club rollers that exude cool and confidence. At times like ‘A Lover’s Anxiety’ and ‘Greg’s Island’ they veer close to the classy house of fellow Swede Axel Boman, while ‘City Neon’ and closer ‘East Village Trip’ have great jacking steez. Though there are no great sonic revolutions here, the two do re-use classic elements in innovative ways -‘Llamada 911’ combines the warmth of a Roland beat with the sort of mellow synth chords that characterised Jam City’s Dream A Garden LP, while things take a Balearic turn on ‘A Blues (Dolphin Cruise Edit)’.
