23 year old producer Max Graef drops a new four track EP for the Apron label. Operated by Funkineven, the aesthetic of Apron is characterised by raw and club ready tracks with a hint of experimentalism. Following on from his feature on Resident Advisor two years ago, we see an evolution in the producer’s style. The sampler still seems to play a very important role in Graef’s music making process, with the opening track ‘Purpurner Nurnwurz’ drawing influence from musique concrete or computer built jungle. Over the course of the EP he manages to eschew any pinpointed styles but fits in perfectly with the Apron aesthetic.
