Inspired by a particular style of party he was throwing back in Norway, Prins Thomas’ new sub label, Horizontal Mambo, is purposed for releasing just about anything it seems, providing it isn’t too club focused. The inaugural release comes via the man himself and his ‘Bobletekno’ record, though the tracks are reinterpreted by Norwegian Jazz maestro, Bugge Wesseltoft. The tracks are deep, flowing and playful with particular focus on repetition and minute loop alterations. The ‘Steinway Grand Version’ has a real grooving bassline and warbling accordion that drifts onwards in its sunny demeanor.
