There’s a particular feeling of satisfaction that occurs when you’re halfway through a track for the first time, and you just know you’re going to be hammering the replay button for ages to come. ‘Gangsters’ is certainly one of those tracks, and a proper dancehall heater to boot. Following last summer’s smash hit ‘Jaws Riddim’, here Famous Eno throws insistent horns over a bare-bones carnival rhythm. The three charismatic MCs all bring different flavours – the cheeky Alexx A-Game, the gruff Serocee, and then Swing Ting regular Fox rounding things off in zoned-out style. Swing Ting have flown somewhat under the radar while building an impressive aesthetic – if there’s any justice in the world, ‘Gangsters’ will shine some much deserved light on the Manchester label.
