Ascendant Dutch DJ and producer Young Marco collates a broad selection of his remix work for this amazing double pack in order to inaugurate his new imprint Safe Trip. Across each of these cuts Marco applies his unique touch, utilising subtle melodies with a strong emphasis on rhythm with a simplistic aesthetic, all truly pragmatic for the ‘floor. And his breadth of source material reflects his digger mentality, ranging from his infectious rework of Cameroonian legend Francis Bebey’s ‘Coffee Cola’ to his recent airy interpretation of minimalist composer Vangelis Katsoulis and the deft treatment of contemporary experimentalist Heatsick on ‘Dream Tennis’. It’s clear that nothing fazes this artist, and this compilation firmly establishes his position as one of the most interesting remixers around at the moment.
