New York-based artist Hisham Akira Bharoocha, a founding member of noise groups Lightning Bolt and Black Dice, teams up with Warp-signed multi-media musician patten. Recorded live at London arts centre The Barbican as part of Station To Station, a month-long series of residencies, installations, performances, and workshops, the collaborative June 30th EP sees Bharoocha and patten exchanging ideas and experimenting with sounds in a loose, improvisational manner. The release features glitchy, abstracted electronics (‘Somni’), short bursts of energy (‘Punk’), and long, sprawling improvisations (‘One Take’), and the result feels like uncharted territory for both artists.
