Genres

Alif are a band from the front of the Arabic independent music scenes. Recorded between Beirut and Cairo in 2014, their self-produced debut album Aynama-Rtama (translation: ‘Wherever It Falls’) sees the group bring together elongated grooves, proggy song arrangements, and complex but energetic rhythms. The result is an album that’s intriguing in sound and labyrinthine in structure.
