Original Paul Johnson material from 1992, reissued by early house music legend Steve Poindexter and his Chicago Underground label. This collection is a document of the time when things were just on the verge of becoming ghetto house, long before Johnson crafted his mega world hit single ‘Get Get Down': creaking analogue effects and room filling kick drums are the base frame of his productions on Vol. 1, and with the walking bass of Drum Boogie and saxophone style synths, Johnson even slips some jazz aesthetics into his sound.
