The ever-engaging Sacred Bones presents a highly captivating soundtrack taken from Domingo Garcia-Huidobro’s internationally acclaimed, surrealist work of non-lineated film entitled Partir To Live. Whist the film seeks to recall and re-imagine some of the director’s previous paranormal experiences, minimalist Dutch composer Jozef Van Wissem manages to handcraft a score that is equally engulfing. Assembled from fractals of naturalistic found sound, swaths of guitar drone and oblique electronics, we’re able to immerse ourselves in a hypnagogic environment that is both foreboding and profound.
