Berlin’s André Rost returns to Jimmy Edgar’s promising Ultramajic imprint with four uncompromising pieces under his Chambray moniker. Aligning himself with the label’s sonic vision of staccato functionality, his second EP for the label cuts to the chase. Banging, dry as a bone percussion forms the basis of his arrangements, and it’s spiced up with syncopated synth chords and ghetto house styled vocal fragments. Rarely leaving the 126 bpm mark, his full-on sound screams determination.
