Ron Morelli’s L.I.E.S comes good again with some masculine, 80’s indebted EBM-tech from the mysterious DJ Slugbug on a white label splinter release. A bold synth pattern dominates ‘Control Final’, propped up by a tough kick, clattering drums and razor-sharp 1/16 hi-hats, followed by the crispier, frazzled ‘Pearl Drop’. Flipping over, ‘Protodental’ takes the reins of the floor with its deadly, mutating arpeggio, whilst the tenacious drum work and long-drawn chants of ‘Statues 2’ gives off a strong Front 242 feel.
