Black Sites, the killer prospect of Helena Hauff & F#X, returns to always on point label PAN for their second release, the blistering Unit 2669. The title track is a gurgling slice of acid techno, standard buzzwords like 'unrelenting' and 'uncomprposing' not coming close to doing justice. Driven by a sharp percussive lead line, it kicks on with acid quavers and fuzzing bass, 12 minutes of intensity that could go on forever. 'Mockba' is a headier affair, with scrubbed and stretched bleeps offering a deeper trip. Two approaches, each singularly successful, this one is essential.
