While there might not have been a flurry of all-revealing introductory articles around Canterbury’s Koloto as of yet, this release really does speak for itself. Productions that are texturally rich with a clear artistic vision. Mechanica blends neo-classical instrumentation with IDM stylings to create a sound that is engaging but by no means unoriginal. The release is capped off by a few special remixes but the carefully composed charm of cuts like Cedar Shed and Primer are the lasting moments. Mechanica is an exciting milestone for a producer who is letting the music do the talking.
