Hailing from Melbourne, newcomer Prequel certainly makes his mark on this EP for wax-only party-starting Peckham contingent, Rhythm Section. The releases has already courted support from the likes of Ben UFO, Giles Peterson and Midland and when you hear the low-key jazz instrumentals of tunes like The Test Dream and Searching, it isn’t hard to understand why. Polite Strangers has a clear feeling of live-jamming but enough dance floor sentiments to keep it suitable for the early hours. The stand out track, Fidelio is a 5 minute masterclass in uncomplicated downbeat production that is truly impossible to resist.
